The Great Substack Story Challenge is here!
We’ve rounded up 13 of the best writers in the world(cough, cough), and they are gonna write a exquisite corpse. With a twist, the first writer will start from a prompt and write the first chapter. The other writers won’t see the chapter until it is published. It is then up to the next writer to advance the story.
We know what you’re thinking: “Who are these people? Why should I care? What if their stories suck?”
That’s what I love about this challenge: it’s unpredictable. It could be great—or it could be terrible!
The chapters will range from mysterious and unpredictable to heart-wrenching and emotional. And each writer will bring their unique voice to the table as they try to deal with the mess their predecessor has left for them.
You know what that means? Each chapter will be stranger than the last, and each one more entertaining than the last. The MC might die in chapter 1! Or he might not die and turn out to be the Dactylion of a eldritch entity! WHO KNOWS??!!
All we know is that this is going to be an amazing ride—and we want you onboard when it starts!
