If you are new here, Welcome! I am Arjun Agarwal and this is my newsletter. If you have not yet read the first chapter, click this link.
We shouldn’t have fought the wolves. It was not a good decision. A better decision was to run. Let me paraphrase it better, run away.
That night we ran toward the wolves.
The howls grew louder as we neared the wolves. The wolves' coat was clean and their fur shiny, almost as if someone had groomed them. As soon as the wolves noticed, they all ran towards us. There were seven of them. One of them stood on the bridge and barked commands. It was larger than normal and its eyes glowed red. The other six wolves attacked us.
Somelina grabbed at the empty fog creating crystal from the suspended water. It consolidated into a sharp shared of ice which she threw towards the wolf attacking her. As soon as it hit the wolf, it busted into millions of small shreds with a droning shrill. So motioned her hands causing the shards to attack the same wolf, killing it.
One of the wolves leapt for Sleatense, who calmly drew his bow and shot an arrow towards the wolf. Upon hitting the ground the wolf vomited blood before dying.
A wolf had grappled Xaia down by attacking her from the side. His white teeth shone in the moonlight as it tried to rip Xaia into shards. I ran towards her to help her when a wolf tackled me down. Xaia noticed that the wolf was about to kill me, she rolled the wolf over and kicked it in the skull. There was a sickening crack and then the wolf was dead. Xaia then ran to save me from the wolf.
She would’ve failed to save me if the wolf had gone for the kill. Just as the wolf was going to go for the kill, the leader, the wolf which was barking commands from the bridge barked and the wolf froze. I pulled out one of the vials on my belt and hit the wolf with it. The green, bubbling liquid started burning the fur and flesh of the beast as it shouted in pain. Before the effect of my acid vial could end, Xaia kicked the wolf on its belly, killing it.
On the other side, Bruno shot the wolves coming towards Valentine and him. The bullets bounced off the wolves and the only effect it had was increasing their anger. Valentine shook off the surprise and then snapped his fingers creating pitch-black smoke which surrounded the wolves. A noxious odour filled the atmosphere as tendrils formed of the smoke and battered the wolves till they were lifeless.
The commanding wolf stopped barking commands and made eye contact with all of us. We all could sense something dark emitting from it.
Bruno pointed his gun at the wolf and fired. The bullet hit a purplish force field, which apparated almost out of nowhere just to protect the wolf. Valentine opened his hands and closed his eyes. A ray of sickening greenish energy lashed out toward the wolf. The wolf howled and the ray, in mid-air, compressed itself into a blackish-purple ball. The wolf stopped howling, all of a sudden and then the ball turned back into a sickening green ray and with lightning speed hit Valentine. Valentine flew five feet and landed unconscious.
The wolf stared at all of us before dissolving into the mists.
Some Announcements
The next 45 days or so may be slightly disorganized, I am having my board examinations and therefore won’t be able to post very frequently.
On top of the announcement list, I made my first two RPGs in ten days.
The first one is called Cops and Comedy and is inspired by Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
The second one is called Intrigue and is inspired by Blindspot.
They both are pay what you want and the money raised(if any) will be donated to Kavi Narmad Central Library, Surat in form of books.
If you want to read the design diaries, they are here on the newsletter itself.
I know that the next episode of the Box 99 series was scheduled to come last week, but unfortunately it got delayed due to technical issues with one one of the co-writers. Will upload it this week, for sure.
The next episode of this series will come within 5-7 days. This was comparatively short chapter, wasn’t it?
Thanks for reading,
Warm Regards,
